Movie Review: Love Tactics (2022)

Love Tactics (Aşk Taktikleri) is a 2022 romantic comedy Netflix movie from Turkey.

Genre: Romantic comedy
Length: 1 hour 38 minutes
Director: Emre Kabakusak

Synopsis

A fashion designer that runs a love blog makes a promise to her readers that she’ll make a man fall in love with her. At the same time, an ad executive makes a bet with his co-workers/friends that he can make a girl fall in love with him in order to gain an account that one of them is managing. Neither believe in love, so they’re using their tactics to make the other fall in love.

Review

I’ve been in a bit of a Turkish drama binge–they’re currently my favorite thing to watch. But this my 2nd Turkish movie that I’ve watched (the first was Ekşi Elmalar). This movie, although predictable, is fun to watch. I didn’t realized until I read someone else’s review that the movie includes a lot of troupes from other romantic comedies.

Characters:

One of the reviews I read about the movie (I try not to read other reviews, I promise) said that it’s very westernized. I didn’t realized it until I read that. It is. I like to watch foreign shows not only to get a different point a view and to find my comedy style, but also to learn about culture. You will not find much about this movie. This is a movie I might watch once out of curiosity, but probably won’t ever watch it again.

Music:

The only song that I noticed that played in this drama was “Never Let You Go” by Marlie Spectrum. The song kind of reminds me of BTS’ “We are Bulletproof: The Eternal.”

Favorite Scenes:

There was only one scene from the movie that I really liked.

The Balloon Ride

I might add all of these to one post since there was more that I could take from this movie.
