2021 Year in Review

Time for the 2021 review! I finally made it to the end of 2021. The year was more rough than 2020. I quit my teaching job, decided to homeschool my children and there were so many deaths in the family that I probably spend most of the year in an unrealized depression. I was hoping I would spend more time blogging during the year, but it just didn’t happen. I watched several dramas, but they were used as a form of escapism. For me to actually blog about would require some reality. I just couldn’t do it.

Although I tried…I only had written about two dramas! At the beginning of the year, I tried to write about the Korean drama Run on as the episodes air. This is difficult and definitely requires skill. I respect people who can stay dedicated to that method of writing. I ended up not finishing–probably because of life. Then I tried to expand on dramas by writing about an American drama, Never Have I Ever. I never finished that either. I have so many great ideas when I want to write about a topic, but putting them into play is the difficult part and is I struggle with. I plan to do better this year. I say that every year and then seem to do worst. But this year I’m more hopeful.

Without further ado, let’s take a peek inside and review this year in at Metta Cultura. Sadly in 2021, I had written only 6 articles (half the amount I had written in 2020). Like I said above, I have a lot of ideas, so there’s 14 articles sitting in my drafts. Most likely I’ll backdate them to the time I originally wanted to post them.

Despite abandonment, my blog almost had the same amount of visitors as it did in 2020. In 2020, I rounded the views to 24,000. This year I had that many views as well. The difference was 153 views with the similar amount of visitors, 18,000. Thank you for those who stopped by and I’m grateful for my returning readers!

Here are the most read articles of 2021:

10. Good Morning Kiss Manga Review

For the past two years (2019 and 2020), Good Morning Kiss Manga Review has been in the number 6 spot. It has fallen down to the number 10 spot for the 2021 year. Here are other manga that I’ve written about:

9. Crazy Beautiful You Movie Review

This movie review makes it debut into the list at the number 9 spot. I really enjoyed this movie and I hope others who like Asian dramas enjoy it too. Here are other movies I wrote about:

8. Drama Review: Mischievous Kiss: Love in Tokyo

I love Mischievous Kiss. I’m glad to see that other people are interested as well. This drama was on the 2019 list, but didn’t make it to the 2020 list. Now it returns on the 2021.

7. Drama Travel Spots: Good Morning Call

It seems like this post has been a top post since I started reviewing my years. I hope some of the readers were able to visit the places. Share pictures if you have.

6. Drama Review: Love Lasts Forever

This post makes its debut onto the list. I love this drama. It’s very similar to Mischievous Kiss, but different in several ways.

5. Poem: A White Rose

I’m often surprised at how often this poem is on the list. I imagine that it’s not exclusively drama lovers searching for this poem and so it brings in a different sort of traffic.

4. Drama Inspired Recipe: Coffee Prince’s Korean Street Style Waffle

This post was number 3 last year. This year it falls one spot to number 4. This is the only recipe that made it onto the list this year.

3. Poem: The Physics of Love

This post has move to the number 3 spot from the number 2 spot in 2020. It’s a very moving and beautiful poem.

2. Drama Travel Spots: Boys Over Flowers

This post has been one of the most popular post since its debut on the blog. It has always been in the top 5 and this year is no different. In 2019 and 2020, it was in the number one spot.

1. I Am Not A Robot Drama Review

Last year this drama was number 7 and it has jumped all the way to the number 1 spot. This drama was surprisingly good and I hope other enjoyed it as much as I have.

The 2021 review has been consistent as far as people being interested in the same posts as last year. There were two debut post on the list. I don’t plan on making plans for 2022. I’m just going to do my best to write. I hope you all will stick around and see what comes. Thank you for being my readers. I hope to continue entertaining you with my posts. Happy New Year!
