Drama Inspired Craft: DIY Tarepanda Key Chain

This key chain is inspired by the Japanese drama, Good Morning Call. For Nao’s birthday, her best friend Marina buys her a Tarepanda plushy. She also receives a key chain from Uehara. I thought it would be fun to both use polymer clay (which I haven’t usedin a while) to create a Tarepanda key chain.

Tarepanda is a cute panda created by the San-X company. “Tare” means “slump down or slouch.” Tarepanda translates into “lazy panda.

Since I am not an expert clay maker, I will add the video I watch so that you will know how to make it your self.

I watched the video once and thought “wow, that looks easy.” LIES! LIES! It’s a somewhat frustrating craft to make. Maybe because I wanted it to look perfect. I told myself that it’s my first time (in a long time) working with clay and it came out pretty good for that circumstance.

So I want to let you know that if you decide to create one of these. You will make mistakes and you will be frustrated. But don’t worry and don’t give up. The person you are making it for will love it anyway because you make it with the good intention of your heart.

What do you think of this craft? Did you enjoy making it?
